Feast Days in Shevat

Rosh Chodesh (Head of the month) – Shevat 1 (January 27, 2020)

More Info

This month is linked with the Hebrew letter Tzadik, which is said to symbolize the “righteous one”. The constellation of the month is Aquarius – water carrier. The tribe of Asher is linked with the month of Shevat. The color/stone for the month is Light Olive Green and Yellow/Citrine Quartz or Peridot.

The name Asher means “pleasure” or “happiness”. Jacob blessed Asher with the delicacies of the king (Gen 49:20). This is a month to be cautious of the king’s delicacies like Daniel and instead look to the “pleasures of the Torah” and see to the feeding of the soul. Traditionally the carrier of water is seen as the coming of blessings so look for your water carries and when you see them shout my blessings are coming!
