More Info

This month is linked with the Hebrew letter Ayin and means eye to see or the primeval light that is mentioned in Gen. 1:3. The constellation of the month is Capricorn – the goat. The tribe of Dan is associated with the month of Tevet. The color/stone for the month is Dark Blue and Turquoise/Sapphire or Turquoise. In this month the feast of Chanukah ends.

This month starts the winter seasons. The Ayin which means eye when put with the root Tov, from the word Tevet, means “good eye”. It is a time to overcome the evil eye. It is time to deal with anger as this begins with the “evil eye” of hatred. Another aspect of the evil eye is immaturity so this is a time to “leap like a goat” into new maturity.
